STEP 1:

Gather all of your materials and tools together.

Cut your one foot pieces of silver wire into two 5" pieces and one 2" piece. Set one 5" piece and the 2" piece aside for making the hook.

STEP 2:

Make a round eye on the end of your 5" piece with your round-nose pliers. This will be the part all the wires of your necklace will be attached to, so make sure it is large enough now to hold them all.

STEP 3:

Grasp your wire about 1/4" to 1/2"away from your first eye. Start making another eye by wrapping the wire around the pliers tip, and overlap over the wire when it reaches full circle. Carefully continue wrapping the wire back around itself on the outer edges of the first circle, in a spiral fashion.

STEP 4:

Carefully continue wrapping the wire back around itself on the outer edges of the first circle, in a spiral fashion. Continue building the spiral for about three wire widths deep.

STEP 5:

Wrap the wire around in your spiral until it is directly across from your attachment eye. Grasp the wire with your pliers and bend it up in a 90 degree angle from the spiral.

STEP 6:

Wrap the wire around your pliers making another eye. Bring the wire tail back to the edge of your spiral and continue wrapping the spiral down towards the first eye.

STEP 7:

Wrap the tail end around the wire stem from the first eye, making a niced wrapped finish.

STEP 8:

You're half way done! Your finished eye part should look like the picture to the left.

STEP 9:

Now, we will begin the hook end of the clasp. Take your other 5" piece of wire and grasp it about 1 1/2" from the end. Bend the wire into a complete U.

STEP 10:

Gently squeeze the "U" end of the wire together withthe flat part of your round nose pliers so the two sides are close together.

STEP 11:

Now, make an eye on the other end of your wire, not the "U" end. Make the eye very close where the two wires meet. This should leave about an inch of tail. Grasp this tail and wrap it around both wires to keep them neatly together.

STEP 12:

Grasp this tail and wrap it around both wires to keep them neatly together. Trim any excess if needed.

STEP 13:
Once the tail is wrapped, make sure your piece is nice and straight, and the two wires are running parrallel to each other.

STEP 14:

Now, take the 2" piece of silver wire and carefully wrap a section of the "U" wire just below the halfway point. This is decorative wrapping to add a nice touch, if it slips slightly after wrapping, gently flatten it with a flat pliers.

 STEP 15:

Carefully bend the wire into the hook shape with your round nose pliers. Gently bend the ned of the hook up and out a little to make it easy ti slip into the eye of the clasp.

 STEP 16:

Now your hook & eye clasp is finished, and ready to add to your project!
